I started out at the age of 9. Putting together little mix tapes and collecting music. By the time i was 15 i had my first pair of decks. Getting the right music was frustrating at that age because of my age and the distance to a decent record shop. Then i got a job in Birmingham city centre and by the time i was 19 i was truly hooked. I met a guy called Jim through work and we would just talk about music & different styles all day long. I found a massive vibe at the time with classics like MAW - To Be In Love & Larry Levans Paradise garage Mix CD. House music was strong in Birmingham & club nights such as Monnypenny's were giving me drive to get into this house music scene.

After 2 or 3 years of collecting house music i started to put some older disco & soul music into my sets. Luther Vandross, Alexandra O'Neil & George Benson were favorites amongst others. Dan Hartman & Micheal Jackson made Disco records sound amazing in bars so i would fit them in, trying to make my sets as diverse as possible. Fridays for me were a day when people just wanted to leave work, grab a drink and listen to good solid music. This is where i pitched myself and created a night called "The Collection". 6Pm onwards i would play whatever took my fancy. taking inspiration from Norman Jay and his "Good Times" Notting Hill sets i would play a spectrum of musical genres.....Anything from Rare Groove, Disco to House... It was an instant success which secured me a long term residency at both the Birmingham branch of Bar Room Bar and their sister branch down in Stratford. Others have followed in London, Leeds & Harrogate.

The a trip to Ibiza in 2002 really made me realise that music like this could be played on a different level. I had never been into chill out untill this time, but a trip to Cafe Mambo soon sorted this. Listening to a very close friend of mine "Jim Breese" play daytime at Cafe Mambo made me hear all these great classic tracks differently and also that set's don't have to be seemlesly mixed to sound good. Another friend of mine that i met through Jim was Andy warburton, still to this day he played the best Sunset i have ever heard......

Over the years i got to re visit and hear greats such as Roger Sanchez / Francois K / Morillo / Pete Tong etc.... Everytime inspiring me to come back to the U.K and tweek the way i played out in bars and clubs. After 2 years of seeing the reaction sunsets and balearic house was getting i decided to come back and do something myself. I organised and played at "Home Deluxe" in Birmingham. Bar Room Bar in the Mailbox was the perfect venue for Sunday afternoons. I booked Jim Breese along side Andy warburton to play daytime balearic house and it went down perfectly. Lazy days sipping drinks and listening to good music. As a one of bank Holiday special I booked Steve Miller from Afterlife, one of the most respected chill out Dj's in the world. He made the day perfect and they had record attendance at the bar. A day i will remember for a very long time.

12 years have passed since i started it all and now i am on a totally different level where music and venue's are concerned. If you haven't visited KM 5 in Ibiza i suggest you do! Space is amazing and the atmosphere and ambience at Pacha still amazes me every time i visit the island. Now Living in London and seeing different styles and blends of music i must admit i have moved on. Down Tempo / electronica house is where i am at, and loving it. There are some great producers / mixers out there at the moment bringing us all fresh and innovitive house music. Check out Winding Road records, Ron Baseman, Spirit Catcher, Crazy P, Metro area....... I could go on. Having played in many different bars around the U.K i found myself with a residency in Stratford - Upon - Avon. It just sort of evolved from me playing in Birmingham and the manager asking me to go down there. After 4 years strong we have a good regular crowd in there that seem to love what i play. I try and keep it cutting edge but also give the crowd what they want to hear on the more commercial front. Every week it gets better & I truly love playing there....

Got some good gigs and parties coming up so watch this space.....
